Sachin’s comes calling to Bangalore

Sachin’s comes calling to Bangalore
The Times of India

Bangalore: The Sachin’s is moving to Bangalore! After a runaway success with his restaurant ventures in Mumbai — Tendulkar’s at Colaba and Sachin’s in Mulund — Sachin Tendulkar, who scored his 35th Test hundred against Sri Lanka at Delhi, is now scoring foodie points with his new restaurant in Bangalore: Sachin’s at Koramangala.

The master-blaster, who runs his restaurants in association with Mars Restaurant Ltd, has given Bangaloreans a chance to relish his favourite dishes. While the Tendulkar’s in Mumbai serves international cuisine, the Sachin’s in Mumbai and Bangalore serve Indian variety.

Sachin’s is a casual dining restaurant and is basically a sports café. It has food from all parts of India, group GM Kaushik Roy told the Sunday Times of India from Mumbai. The menu card marks all Sachin Tendulkar’s favourite dishes which include Bombil Fry, a Maharashtrian dish made from Bombay duck, among other things.

Sachin’s has several memorabilia like Sachin Tendulkar’s bat or ball, which has been associated with one or the other special occasion in his cricketing career and it keeps changing from time to time.

Tendulkar’s too: For the record, Tendulkar’s in Colaba opened about three years ago and Sachin’s in Mulund opened in November 2004.

Come March 2006, and Bangalore will also get a Tendulkar’s like the one in Mumbai, Roy said. “Bangalore is a happening city... We open restaurants in corporate corridors where youngsters and the yuppie crowd identify themselves. We are also looking at Pune. Sachin Tendulkar will visit the Bangalore restaurant when he is here to play a match.’’
