The traffic-ridden streets of Basavangudi may soon get a breather. Four new roads are being planned in the area, out of which two are already under construction.

Work begins

The work on creating new stretches between Basavangudi Telephone Exchange and K G Nagar Main Road via Bull Temple Road, and Kalasha Nursing Home and Chamarajpet, has already begun.

The other two roads, connecting Ashok Nagar and Vidya Peetha, and Thyagarajanagar and Vidya Peetha, are expected to be developed shortly.

The complete length of the new roads is nearly 2.5 km.

According to A T Samuel, Chief Consultant at Stup Consultants, the roads will run parallel to storm water drains, and are built as service roads complying to the regulations of Indian Road Congress.
