The road stretch between St Marks Road and Residency Road, which was to be opened for traffic after repair of the collapsed sewage pipeline at Cash Pharmacy on Wednesday, remained closed barring for a few hours in the morning. It is expected to be opened to public on Thursday.

According to BWSSB Chief Engineer Guruprasad Baily, the works were complete but the surface was yet to set. It is taking a while for the repaired stretch to set because of rain, he said.

Work was done to a depth of 3.2 m and to a length of 50 m and a pipeline of 450 mm diameter has been laid, Mr Baily said, adding that around Rs 3 lakh was spent for the project.
