Rs 48 cr for IT corridor roads upgradation soon

The minister also announced that about 3,000 km of roads in the State would be developed at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore.
About four diversion roads linked to the IT corridor around Bangalore are due for upgradation. Minister for Finance P G R Sindhia on Wednesday said a sum of Rs 48 crore will be released for the same.
The roads are: Chandapura - Dommasandra to Hoskote - Kadugodi; Anekal - Bannerghatta to Meenakshi Temple Road; Varthur - Attibele to Sarjapur - Dommasandra Road and Bannerghatta Road.
Addressing presspersons after holding a review meeting on issues pertaining to Public Works and Energy departments where minister H D Revanna was also in attendance, Mr Sindhia disclosed that over 3,000 km of roads will be developed in the State at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore separately.
The project is billed to be taken up as Phase 2 of Karnataka State Highways Improvement Project and would be placed before the Cabinet, he said.
