Dharam promises hi-tech, green city for Bangaloreans

Tumkur: Reiterating the state government's commitment to promote growth of information technology and bio-technology sectors along with other industrial segments, chief minister Dharam Singh on Sunday said Bangalore would be developed into hi-tech city.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremonies of Sri Lakshminarasimhaswamy temple main door and the Urdugere-Devarayandurga road widening works, Singh said Bangalore Development Act would be implemented on the lines of Delhi Development Act for making Bangalore a hi-tech city. All steps would be taken by the government to make the city green.

The chief minister said Bangalore is one of the fatest growing city in Asia, to which leaders from 37 countries had visited. Tumkur would be developed on the lines of Kalyan in Mumbai. Tumkur would be developed into a satellite city, he said.
Singh said the Government would soon release funds to provide basic facilities for Tumkur varsity. On the Bangalore metro rail, he said there is no qusetion of government shelving the project.
