‘Nakabandi’ to continue: Police chief

‘Nakabandi’ to continue: Police chief
Deccan Herald

City Police Commissioner, Dr Ajay Kumar Singh, has ordered the police to continue its ‘nakabandi’ throughout the City.

Dr Singh told Deccan Herald on Sunday that the ‘nakabandi’ which has proven to be effective, would continue.

He said that the jurisdictional police should ensure that all the dance bars in their jurisdiction close at the stipulated time.

Mr Singh said that he would study the new order of the government on dance bars and issue instructions. Another senior police officer said he had passed orders that if any dance bar was found operating beyond the stipulated time, action would also be taken against the station house officer under whose jurisdiction it was found operating.

The licensing process of dance bars has already commenced and many dance bars have approached the police, he said.

The deputy commissioner of police (Administration) will be responsible for scrutinising the applications. The final decision on licence lies with the Bangalore Police Commissioner.
