Message from ESG: Meeting with Forest Department today

Mr. C. S. Vedanth, Addl. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, has called an emergency meeting to discuss the ongoing tree felling in Bangalore. Those of you who can make it at short notice, please do come for this meeting.

It is at 3 pm in Aranya Bhavan, 18th Cross Malleswaram. We will meet 10 minutes priorly in the lobby to discuss our strategies.

In addition, there is a meeting of all supporters at 6 pm in the Park opposite State Bank of India, St. Mark's Road. This is to discuss combined strategies. Kindly ensure that you do make it to this meeting.

The type of arrogance with which the BMP is continuing felling of trees is unprecedented. It requires widespread, active and large protests. Please mobilise large numbers of people. It is imperative we do this, lest we will have to live in a city bereft of avenue trees. This is a time when we must let other engagements take a backseat.

Thanks very much

Leo, Subbu, Bhargavi and others at ESG
And on behalf of many supporters who have been consistently working to save Bangalore's trees.
