BANGALORE: The Bangalore Development Authority's (BDA) computerised kiosks for property tax payment, information service and complaint registration will be inaugurated on April 1.

Operating on a pilot basis, the e-Pragati kiosks at HBR Layout and at the BDA head office on Bellary Road, will have displays in both English and Kannada. They will accept cash, cheques and demand drafts for property tax payment. Cash can be paid in denominations from Rs. 10 to Rs. 500. Credit card accepting facilities will be provided at a later stage.

The kiosks can also be used to download information on payment of a prescribed fee. Details about survey numbers listed in the final notification for the formation of Arkavathy Layout and Hi-Tech City project will be available here.

How to pay property tax through e-Pragati kiosks:

* From the main menu, click on the Tax Payment option. * Select your layout and sub-layout. * Enter the site number/property number and press OK. Details related to the property will be displayed. * Key in the amount to be paid. * Select payment option -- Cash, cheque, demand draft. * Cash will be accepted in denominations of Rs. 10, Rs. 50 , Rs. 100 and Rs. 500. * After inserting the cash/cheque, click on the PRINT button. * Transaction is complete. Receipt for payment made will be printed.
