BMRTL to create website for e-tendering

BMRTL to create website for e-tendering

Deccan Herald

After the State Cabinet gave its nod for the Bangalore Metro Rail Project, things are moving in top gear. The Bangalore Mass Rapid Transit Limited (BMRTL) is now working on creating an official website that will facilitate e-tendering when the project kicks off. The website, www. bmrtl.co.in, will be formally launched by March 10.

The website will begin its operations by hosting the notification for pre-qualification bids. Pre-qualification documents and questionnaires for contractors can be downloaded from the website from March 11 to March 31, and the last date for receiving the tender is scheduled for April 27.

“It is statutory that pre-qualification bids should appear on the site simultaneously with newspapers and other media. So we decided to launch the website,” informed Managing Director of BMRTL, K N Shrivatsava. BMRTL is planning to invite all its tenders through the Net, thus enabling e-tendering. Other details, like route maps, status of the project and future plans will also be represented on the website. “Once the work begins, a lot of information can be transacted using the Net. We will have to establish an entire team to manage the website,” Shrivatsava added.
