BANGALORE, JAN 12: The land lease and State support agreement for the Devanahalli international airport is likely to be signed on January 19. Government sources confirmed that the crucial documents that had been recently cleared by the State would be signed officially next week.

Speaking to FE, state additional chief secretary and principal secretary for infrastructure development Vinay Kumar siad, ``we have sought time from the Chief Minister on January 19, so that the signing ceremony can take place in the presence of the Chief Minister and the deputy chief minister''.

The land lease and the State support agreement are crucial given that the other pending formalities of the decade-old airport project can happen only after these are signed. Once the documents are cleared, the nodal agency for the project will work on revising the EPC contract with the builders L&T and Siemens. The financial closure of the project is expected by February end, according to BIAL
