State Govt. continues to dither on airport clearances

Airport meet with dy CM inconclusive
Times of India

Bangalore: Discussions with deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah on finance clearances for the Bangalore international airport at Devanahalli proved inconclusive on Thursday.

Two agreements for the project — state support and land lease — have been pending for the last two months, awaiting the finance clearance as Siddaramaiah had not called the meeting. Infrastructure secretary Vinay Kumar told The Times of India, “Several issues were raised during the discussions. We need to hold several rounds of meetings before we can clear them.’’

However, Kumar said the government will stick to the November-end deadline given by infrastructure minister P.G.R. Sindhia, to clear the agreements. “It should be possible to meet it,’’ he stated.
