Telling impact of schools on traffic congestion

One only needs to take a look at the smooth traffic flow (albeit relatively) on Residency Road and Richmond Road this week (and hopefully the next) to realize the extent to which schools contribute to traffic congestion. Thanks to the Dussehra holidays schools are closed for a two week period and its a welcome relief for commuters from the hordes of haphazardly parked autos, cars, buses and vans ferrying children to and fro from schools.
