The Bangalore City Corporation is planning to introduce rain water harvesting in the parks maintained by the corporation. City mayor P.R. Ramesh said this at a meet the press programme organised by the Bangalore Press Club on Tuesday.

Mr Ramesh said that the BCC has introduced rain water harvesting in K.P. Park on a pilot basis by constructing small pond-like structures to store rain water. Soon, this will be extended to all Corporation parks in the city. The BCC has already incorporated rain water harvesting in its Building by-laws.
Mr Ramesh also said that the BCC has planted 25,000 herbal, medicinal and aromatic plants in the corporation parks and hospitals.
