Bangalore: Expect more magic boxes across roads in Namma Bengaluru. After the ones at Maharani College and K R Circle are completed, two more vehicular underpasses will come up at Kalidasa Junction and State Bank of Mysore Circle.
The underpass at the Kalidasa T-Junction leading to Sagar Talkies will be built at a cost of Rs 2 crore. The magic box will be used by traffic plying across Sagar Talkies Road and Seshadri Road, twoway. “Currently, work on shifting utility lines is in progress. It should be a month’s time before the actual work on the underpass begins,” a BBMP engineer said.
Survey work for the magic box at SBM Circle has also been completed. The design is being worked on and the cost is yet to be finalized. The proposal is to have one of the widest underpasses here, connecting Palace Road and Avenue Road. The stretch above will be open for the K G Road traffic. However, the underpass stretch will be one-way, considering the narrow width of Avenue Road.
The underpasses at Maharani College Junction and K R Circle are expected to be ready by May 10.
