HC declines stay on ORR works

HC declines stay on ORR works
DH News Service, Bangalore:
The High Court on Thursday refused to stay the work on six-lane Outer Ring Road (ORR) from Magadi Road to Mysore Road, while rejecting an interim prayer in the course of a PIL challenging the projects feasibility.

G R Murali, M Vadivelu and Karnataka State SC/ST, Minority and Backward Classes Progressive Federation have petitioned against construction of the ORR.

They said since there is already a Ring Road from Mysore Road to Magadi Road, the ORR is waste of public money.

How can one say that this is a waste of public money? You will know the real pain when you travel on this stretch from the Banashankari stretch of the ORR. There seems to be an obvious missing link here. Once completed, this road will serve anybody traveeling to electronics city from Nagarabhavi, Peenya, Tumkur rd, Yeshwantpur, Mahalakshmi Layout, Rajajinagar and Vijaynagar.
