State of the city
Rains, slush, potholes, floods, two-hour traffic jams, chokingly polluted air, gun fights, attacks on theatres, parochialism, people coming out of ATMs robbed at knife point in broad daylight, a government caught up in resolving internal brawls, other states wooing investments, corporators busy touring the world on public money, increasing taxes.....
This pretty much sums up the sorry state of this so-called city that I live in.

gun fights???
Yes, gun fights. This is in reference to two incidents involving the use of guns in public in the past month. One, a brawl between gangsters, rowdys, is perhaps a more appropriate term. The other is in a property dispute which nearly turned into a mini-riot as well.
