BANGALORE: “I am eagerly waiting to travel in the Bangalore metro when it rolls out in December,” said Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, while unveiling the mock-up version of the Metro rail on MG Road on Friday.
“The work on Bayappanahalli-KSCA Cricket Stadium stretch is almost over and by December, metro rail will be on tracks,” he said.
The Metro coach replica, kept at the Anil Kumble Circle, includes a passenger coach and a train driver cabin.
“People can see how their metro rail is going to be,” said the CM.
BMRCL has installed the replica under a weatherproof ceiling and on a raised platform, which gives one a feel of the metro rail station.
The total cost of the metro rail project is now estimated to be Rs 11,609 crore.
Work on the whole project is expected to get over by June 2013.
Visitors flocked to the site even before the inauguration. “I am here from 3 pm. It was worth the wait,” said K Prashant.
