CM promises to restore site after Metro work is over

There is some good news for Bangalore. Chief minister BS Yeddyurappa on Friday announced plans to restore the once-famous MG Road boulevard between Anil Kumble Circle and Kamaraj Road after the construction of the metro rail station on the main thoroughfare of the city is completed.
"We are planning to provide facilities like performance of visual art and craft, open-air theatre, street plays, music band and children's play area," Yeddyurappa said after inspecting the works at the station on MG Road. He said the plan is to restore all the green cover that MG Road had before it made way for the metro rail construction work. The MG Road boulevard, which was referred to as 'promenade', was a major attraction. In 2005, it was removed to make way for the metro rail.
"This is good news, Bangalore will love to have the same boulevard back," said Shruthi Hegde, a Bangalore resident.
