Bengaluru will get modern bus stations near the Metro Rail stations for better connectivity in future as part of the KSRTC’s plans to provide state-ofthe-art facilities at bus stations across the state to encourage more commuters to use public transport.
“The modern bus stations will be located within easy reach of other mass public transportation systems like the Metro Rail, to make life easier for commuters,” says KSRTC managing director, Gaurav Gupta, explaining that the multi-modal transit centres (MMTCs) are intended to decongest the city.

“Once the Metro Rail begins running in the city, hundreds of commuters will benefit from these bus stations which will be strategically located,” he adds.

The MMTCs will help reduce travel time, connect inter and intra-city bus services, provide park & ride facilities, accommodate advance reservation counters for bus, air and railway passengers, and have pedestrian subways for safety of commuters, Mr Gupta reveals, adding that modern satellite bus stations will be built on the Tumkur RoadPeenya and Old Madras Road-NGEF stretches and on Hosur Road, near the peripheral ring road.
