Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain comes alive

BANGALORE: Celebrations for the Kannada New Year, well known as ‘Ugadi’, started early this year amidst nature. With the Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain, at the Renewable Energy Park, coming alive on Monday, as part of the Vasantotsava, 2010 celebrations, the festival could not have asked for a better start.
The event, organised by the Rotary International Club and the Horticulture department, was a musical treat with various cultural performances and a mesmerising performance by noted Kannada playback singer, M D Pallavi.
Home Minister, V S Acharya, who was also present at the event said, “Ugadi, is a celebration of happiness and life and that efforts should be made to learn and understand the rich cultural heritage of the state.” “This was the perfect way to welcome the the festival,” said S Nagendra, Governor for Rotary District 3190.
Also, the flavour of the festival was showcased with a variety of food, that kept the guests engaged at the event.
