BANGALORE: The High Court on Thursday issued notices to Infosys and Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) on a petition challenging the acquisition of land for the peripheral road of the BMIC (Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor) project.
Hearing a petition filed by K Sukumaran, a resident of Beratena Agrahara, Justice SA Nazir issued notice to the Chief Secretary, NICE and Infosys.
NICE has acquired the land for the project by violating High Court and Supreme Court orders and there was a manipulation to save the land belonging to Infosys from the project alignment which was accepted by state government, the petitioner said.
The peripheral road starts from the south of Konappana Agrahara, but the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) had acquired a property situated to the north of Konappana Agrahara, the petitioner said.
He sought directions to the government to invalidate the acquisition of land.

The division bench headed by Justice V Gopala Gowda adjourned the hearing to February 9. BBMP had issued tender notification for civil works worth Rs 13,000 crore.
