Unidentified miscreants vandalised the ceiling of the pedestrian subway near the VTU office on Nrupathunga Road early Saturday morning. Pedestrians found it difficult to walk through the subway with pieces of metal and ripped out parts of the pre-cast ceiling.
The vandals made away with wires, tubelights and LED lights, said BBMP chief engineer T.N.
Chikkarayappa.

BBMP had constructed the pedestrian subway to help pedestrians cross busy Nrupatunga Road and allow for free movement of vehicles on the road.

Pre-cast elements were extensively used in the construction of the subway in February last year. Mr Chikkarayappa said a police complaint had been lodged and urged the police to take action against the culprits.
