Kannada sign boards must

Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner Bharat Lal Meena has directed the zonal commissioners to strictly implement the Kannada Development Authority’s (KDA) order on Kannada signboards in the shops and commercial establishments.


The commissioner on Monday asked the official to implement the order strictly from this week. A BBMP official said, the public advertisements were published recently in the major newspapers as it is difficult to issue notice to every shop owner individually. The KDA has stipulated that a fine up to Rs 10,000 will be imposed on the shop owners for violating its order.
