Ever get tired of the fast-paced urban life? Now is when you can experience the tranquility of rural life.

Karnataka Darshan, an initiative to reinvent rural lifestyle for urbanites, will start this Wednesday.

Bangalore will get mini-villages, which will showcase the culture and heritage of Karnataka.

The exhibition will take place at Garuda Mall.

"It's an attempt to go back to our past" said Nandeesh M R, manager, Garuda Mall.

Karnataka Darshan will have village houses, a village fair that will have eateries serving rural delicacies like holige, raagi roti, and akki roti (rice roti), among other things.

Handicrafts and toys like the famous Channapatna and Mysore dolls will also be displayed.

Folk art like Yakshagana, Pattada Kunitha, Kamsale and Jambhe will be shown every night and there will also be a performance by artists of the Mysore darbar.

Monument replicas

The exhibition will also have replicas of monuments like the Mysore palace, Shravanbelagola and Gol Gumbaz.

There's also a guide to take you on a tour if you need one.

"We are excited to see the monuments from across Karnataka in Bangalore," said Veeresh L S. "I want to experience the rural set-up, as I really miss it amidst urban life."
