Malleswaram to be next zero-garbage constituency

Emulating the successful Gandhinagar model of ‘zero-garbage’, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), on Saturday, held a public meet, seeking suggestions and feedback on the policy in Malleswaram.


The ‘zero-garbage’ policy has already been implemented in two of the seven wards - Aramane Nagar and Malleswaram. The BBMP has now planned to implement the policy in the remaining five wards.
BBMP Commissioner Bharat Lal Meena said, the BBMP will provide two bins - one green in colour (for wet garbage) and a yellow bin (for dry garbage) to residents welfare associations.
The policy will be implemented next in Rajajinagar constituency.
