Broke BBMP can't pay its employees

A bankrupt Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) has no money to pay salaries to over 12,000 of its employees, who have been waiting for it for the past 15 days. With BBMP bank accounts drained of money, the employees of the civic agency have not been getting their salary on time for the past two months.
The BBMP would require a total of Rs40crore to pay the salaries of all the 12,000 employees. The sad state of affairs at BBMP has been blamed on former BBMP commissioner S Subramanya.
