Remove non-Kannada hordings: KDA to BBMP

The Kannada Development Authority has directed the BBMP to remove non-Kannada advertisement hoardings in bus shelters within next 20 days.

Authority Chairman Mukh-yamantri Chandru, in his letter to the Palike, said as per the Government Order issued by the Labour department, advertisement hoardings in Palike limits should be prominently displayed in Kannada. But the order had not been followed by the companies which got contracts to put up advertisements in bus shelters.

He said, Times Innovative Group, Ad Labs, Clear Channel and Hypes Integrated had obtained contracts to put up hoardings in 281, 172, 43 and 131 bus shelters, respectively. They had not followed the norms. The Palike too had failed to act on them, he added.
