The Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) has been given time till May 29 by the Karnataka High Court to finalise the ‘master plans’ for Kanakpura, Magadi, Anekal, Hoskote and Nelamangala.
The directive was given by Justice Ram Mohan Reddy after hearing a petition filed by A G Krishnaswamy.
A G Krishnaswamy had approached the BMRDA years back to convert 16 acres of agricultural land in Nelaguli on Kanakpura Road to non-agricultural land. And after not considering his application for years, the BMRDA rejected it in 2006 on the premise that the land came under its proposed master plan for Kanakpura.
Meanwhile, the High Court had learnt that the Governor had given his consent for the master plan and passed the order to finalise it. Lawyers representing the State government had sought 15 days time but the court rejected the plea.
