Bangalore: A large number of voters thronged the Voter Facilitation Centres on Tuesday with only eight more days remaining for securing Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC).

However, many of the people rushed to the centres due to confusion that March 31 was the last date to obtain an EPIC. The people were found standing in long queues at Banashanakri, K.R. Puram and other centres waiting for their turn.

Meanwhile, the officials in-charge of elections have clarified that EPICs will be issued in Bangalore till April 8 at the designated centres. Those who have submitted applications for registration in the voters’ list will also be given EPIC on or before April 8 subject to inclusion of their names in the list after verification.
