Sound and light show begins
Bangalore, DHNS:
Over 300 folk artistes from across 28 districts of Karnataka enthralled audiences with their spectacular performances during the inauguration of the Sound and Light show at the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens here on Saturday.

Performing to music composed by renowned Hamsalekha in the background, artistes portrayed the ills of casteism in the State from ancient times. With the theme Manushya Jathi Thaanonde Valam reverberating in the background, the champions of social justice in the State from Adi Kavi Pampa to the Vachana proponents Basavanna, Akkamahadevi and Allamaprabhu came to life through their teachings against casteism in the show. It was inaugurated by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Kumar. Also present were Chickpet MLA Hemachandra Sagar and Secretary of the Department of Kannada and Culture, Jayaram Raje Urs. It was organised by the Information Department.
