Rs 3,172 cr: BDA’s spending for 2009-10

BANGALORE: Beating the deficit trend, Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has come out with a surplus budget.BDA envisages a surplus of Rs 8.32 crore. BDA’s revenue for 2009- 10 is estimated at Rs 3,180.74 crore, of which a provision has been made to spend Rs 3,172 crore. BDA plans to spend Rs 1,291 crore for the construction of eight underpasses, development of 22 lakes, development of five junctions on the Outer Ring Road between Mysore Road and Hebbal Flyover.
BDA will take up development of basic infrastructure at a cost of Rs 587.25 crore as directed by CM. Apart from this Rs 50 crore has been set aside for providing facilities to slums. Another Rs 50 crore have been allocated to provide facilities for scheduled castes and tribes.
