When will this underpass be thrown open?

Bangalore: Work’s on in full swing, but not complete yet. The underpass at the Magadi Road-Chord Road Junction was to be complete by December 31, 2008. But the deadline has now been extended February 2009.
The delay is not on account of funds or lack of coordination; much of this project suffers from the Namma Metro work in progress here, says BDA commissioner H Siddaiah. The Rs 29.54-crore project, including additional works on the Metro piers, started in May 2006. However, the deadline has been extended many times. According to the earliest target, it was to be complete in 12 months — by May 14, 2007.
This junction connects four major roads out of which one is a national highway and the other two are state highways (Mysore Road and Magadi Road), making it overcrowded throughout the day. The road space here is very less and traffic stoppage time is very high leading to bumper-to-bumper traffic during peak hours. The fourlane underpass is expected to relieve much of the traffic congestion at the junction.
