BIA: Dip in passenger traffic?
BIA: Dip in passenger traffic?
Bangalore, DHNS:
Following the terror attacks in Mumbai, many domestic and international carriers at the BIA have recorded a total of 28 to 30 per cent dip in passenger loads/ traffic during the last four days, say officials.
However, Air India spokesperson Venkatarengan Chandrasekar, Senior Manager (Corporate Communications), said that there have been no appreciable cancellations in group bookings on the national carrier, and that it would take more time to assess any real impact on air travel trends after the terror attack.
A Kingfisher official too said the Bangalore-London flight has been operating on schedule, and that no cancellation is evident on the domestic sectors either.
But aviation experts say this is a short-term impact, as passengers who have temporarily postponed their travel plans to Indian cities (or re-scheduled their visits) will definitely return.
Many airlines too said the slowdown would be a temporary phenomenon, and that flight schedules to the City have been largely unaffected.
