Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa said on Tuesday that “there was no question of turning a blind eye to the A.T. Ramaswamy Committee report. I am bound by it as the panel was formed during the BJPDal (S) regime.” Reacting to this newspaper’s exposé on the final findings of the committee on encroachment of government land in and around Bengaluru, he said his government is committed to safeguarding government land.

“It is incorrect to say we are doing nothing because I have said nothing. I’ve had several discussions with officials.

My stance will be made known shortly,” he said.

Former CM, H.D.

Kumaraswamy meanwhile warned the new BJP government against trying to shield BJP leaders who encroached upon land. “The government should implement the report immediately.”
