Landing aborted at BIA

BANGALORE: A Kingfisher Airlines aircraft coming from Mumbai had to abort landing at the Bengaluru International Airport on Wednesday because of the delay in the take-off of ATR aircraft.

Sources said an Airbus A-320 aircraft of Kingfisher Airlines that had been cleared for the final approach to the runway was asked by Air Traffic Control (ATC) to abort landing.

A Bengaluru International Airport Ltd (BIAL) source told The Hindu that the ATC asked the flight to abort landing for operational reasons. “Even if a flight is delayed by 30 seconds, the aircraft getting ready to take off or land are asked to delay take off or landing,” source said.
