BDA underpass work begins

BDA underpass work begins
DH News Service, Bangalore:
Utter chaos prevailed near near the Windsor Manor bridge, with the BBMP beginning work on construction of the underpass at BDA junction on Friday night.

Commuters were confused about the traffic diversion, and had to take long routes to reach their destinations. Several roads leading to BDA junction were blocked and alternative routes opened. “I have to cover a long distance to reach home. The BBMP should have used easily- visible indicators to help the commuters,” said a passerby.

The newly-renovated High Grounds police station was demolished by the BBMP’s demolition squad. A sizable number of onlookers had gathered to watch the demolition drive.

Police said that a large portion of the police station will be razed, and that the police station is now functioning from a temporary shed.

The BBMP has set a deadline of 45 days for conclusion of the construction work.
