KSRTC ticket booking now a mouse click away

BANGALORE: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus ticket booking is now possible with just a mouse click.

One can now book and get KSRTC e-ticket by sitting at home or work place or from any cyber cafe through the additional feature of Any Where Any Time Advanced Reservation (AWATAR) system.

AWATAR was launched last year and one could purchase tickets either at KSRTC counters or at authorised franchises of KSRTC. This additional feature can make a commuter’s job easier and commuter can book e-ticket from anywhere-anytime using computer with Internet facility and a printer.

The feature is said to be first of its kind amongst State Transport Undertakings in India. The payment gateway is presently offered through ICICI bank for all credit cards having Visa and Master logos. There is also a provision for availing the e-ticket for the account holders of SBI through direct debit to the account.

Transport Minister N Chaluvaraya Swamy inaugurated the new system on Monday. KSRTC managing director A P Joshi, chief secretary P B Mahishi, principal secretary to transport D Thangaraj, chief computer engineer C S Sheshadri were present.

How to get e-ticket

Log on to www.ksrtc.in

Create an individual account by filling personal details

Log on to account with user name and password

Select journey details like date-time, bus and route, boarding and the ending point

Select the payment gateway and pay the fare

Print e-ticket

Travel with e-ticket and any identification proof.
