Rs 100 cr for BBMP’s road works

The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike was on Monday sanctioned Rs 100 crore from under Centre’s Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission for the road upgradation works of IT-BT roads and flood affected roads.

A sum of Rs 54 crore has been released for works related to Rs 686.56 crore worth projects like Storm Water Drain remodelling and Malleswaram Circle Underpass, BBMP Commissioner K Jairaj said. It is said that sum was released late on Monday after BBMP Chief Engineer (Projects) A M Ranganath met Centre’s Urban Development Secretary M Ramachandran in New Delhi. Mr Ranganath also made a presentation on the detailed project reports of the road upgradation works to JN-NURM’s Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee. Mr Ramachandran was in Bangalore on Friday, last week and had held discussions with BBMP officials.
