The golden hue of the evening sun, the cool breeze synchronised to the resonating sound of music.

The ‘Suvarna Bangalore’ celebrations will spring a musical surprise to Bangaloreans, at their own neighbourhood parks. For, the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) is planning to introduce ‘Rasa Sanje’ programme in about nine parks across the City.

The six parks were added to the list, following the huge response to the first ‘Rasa Sanje’ programme held in October. ‘Udyanavanadalli Sandhyaraaga’ or ‘Rasa Sanje’ - a one-hour musical treat in the natural ambience of your neighbourhood park, was conceptualised to commemorate the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the State.

The maiden effort saw music concerts at three parks - Coles Park, Gayatri Devi Park and M N Krishna Rao Park. But the huge response to the programme had requests pouring in from music lovers, urging the BMP to host them at all the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike parks.

“The music programmes will be held every second Saturday of the month, between 5 pm and 6 pm. We want to rekindle the interest in musical compositions related to Kannada language and its culture. At present, we have zeroed in on six more parks to host the concerts. On November 9, Bugle Rock Park in N R Colony, Banashankari Park, Sankey Tank, J P Park, Jayamahal ‘Aane’ Park and Hebbal Park, will host the programmes simultaneously,” said a senior BMP official.

“We have a list of more than 60 amateur and veteran troupes identified by the department of Kannada and Culture. The troupes will be given a remuneration of Rs 3,000 each. The event will have no paraphernalia and is meant to be simple and aesthetic,” asserted another official.
