Many historical structures in the city have disappeared and the Fort is next in line, rued R Thimmegowda, chief secretary of Kempe Gowda Memorial Foundation, while speaking to reporters in the city on Friday.

“The gross neglect of historical monuments by the Government and the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike is resulting in their elimination.

Even the citizens are making no efforts to safeguard these structures,” regretted Thimmegowda, adding that the Government should spruce up the monuments to attract tourists.
