BMP, LDA, forest dept to restore lake

Bangalore: Officials of Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, Lake Development Authority and forest department inspected the lake in Bangalore Palace Grounds and said they will do everything to restore the forest area.
Also, based on a report that appeared on page 2 in The Times of India on July 21 ‘Obituary of A Lake Nobody Knew About,’ the Karnataka forest department has filed an FIR in the Yeshwanthpur section, accusing seven persons. The FIR says that the persons are accused of violating Section 8 of Karnataka Preservation of Trees Act, 1976 and section 2 of Forest Conservation Act, 1980.
