AS per numerological predictions, renaming Bangalore to Bengaluru will bring luck to the citizens and the City will see better development.

According to City-based numerologist J Sampath, the name Bangalore was under the influence of number 29 and ruled by Moon and Mars whereas the new name Bengaluru is under the influence of number 33 and ruled by the planet Venus.

"Interestingly, the new name (Bengaluru) has two English alphabets U which increases the influence Venus has over the name. Activities related to dance, music, films, advertising and creativity will be much more after the City is renamed," he observes.

"Further, food, beverages, hotel, hospitality , entertainment and amusement related industries will do well in Bengaluru and more number of multi-national companies will set up base in the City ," Sampath adds.

"The City will grow both horizontally and vertically and is going to be a world class centre for medical treatment and entertainment, " he claimed.

Still, there is confusion over whether to call Bangalore as Bengalooru or Bengaluru. It depends on the gazette notification and the discretion of the public.

A mere change in name will not have any impact on our culture either . Speaking to BVT , Mayor Mumtaz Begum said a meeting may be held to decide on the date of Bangalore City Corporation (BCC) Council meeting. The monthly meeting would be held at end of this month. As per directions from Chief Minister N Dharam Singh, the matter would be placed before the BCC Council meeting for recording and ratification. Later , it would be sent to the government for approval. Mumtaz also said that hencefor th, the BCC would also be called the Bengaluru City Corporation.
