Work on the Arkavathi project began on Wednesday. However, of the 22 packages, civil works started in only three packages. Work on all the packages could not be started as a few contractors are out of station and the rest were busy bidding for another contract work called by BDA, sources said. Police have been deployed to prevent any probable trouble from locals during the work.

Property recovered

The BDA on Wednesday demolished unauthorised structures and recovered 2 acres and 17 guntas of land, worth around Rs 16.35 crore. The officials demolished three structures and compound walls in OMBR layout in Banaswadi. The Task Force officials carried out the operation along with the assistance of police
