Bangalore: Buoyed by the overwhelming response to its direct flights linking Bangalore and Paris, Air France is planning to offer a daily service instead of five days a week, a top official said here Thursday.

The passenger load factor had increased to 90 percent this month from 80 percent in November, with many passengers opting for a Paris stopover for their connecting flights to Europe, Africa and North America, Air France-KLM chairman and chief executive officer Jean-Cyril Spinetta told IANS.

"We plan to have a daily flight from Bangalore to Paris soon to improve the quality of air service and increase the frequency from five flights (per week) now. Since the launch of our service (Airbus 330-200) from here on Nov 1, the response has been very promising.

"The feedback from business travellers and others has been encouraging," Spinetta said.

The airliner is also in talks with the French government to open a visa office of the Mumbai French consulate in the city for processing visa applications faster and increase the number of visas to business and leisure travellers.

"With Bangalore alone accounting for about 20 per cent of our traffic from India, we are upbeat about its potential to generate more passengers for our service, thanks to the rapid growth of the knowledge sector," Spinetta said.
