Bangalore: T aking his tirade against Infosys chief N R Narayana Murthy a step further , JDS supremo H D Deve Go wda on Saturday accused him of playing politics at the behest of former Chief Minister and Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna to topple the coalition government in the S tate.

Making fresh charges against Krishna and his company , Gowda told reporters that the resignation of M urthy as Chairman of Bangalore International Airport Limited was being used as the last weapon to destabilise the Dharam Singh go vernment.

Go wda alleged that there was a nexus between Infosys and some leading politicians who held shares in the blue chip company . H o wever , he refused to name them. H e said, M urthy and Krishna are like two sides of the same coin, but refused to elaborate.

Even as Gowda went hammer and tongs at M urthy and Krishna, Chief Minister Dharam Singh told reporters that he had spoken to M urthy who is currently in the US and requested him to withdraw the resignation. I t is a sad development. I wish M urthy had given some indication before resigning. I m confident of persuading him when he will be here on N o v 7, the Chief Minister said. On fresh attack against IT companies b y Go wda, Singh said he would comment only after looking into the issue, adding he had not received any communication from Congress high command to conduct an inquiry into Infosys land deal.

H o wever , disappro ving of Singh s efforts to buy peace with M urthy , Go wda said, N obody is indispensable . H e (M urthy) is not the solitary individual who has contributed to the promotion of IT sector . The development of Bangalore will not stop just because he had quit.

T argetting Infosys questioned as to why Infosys wanted huge tracts of land even after getting 78 acres in Bangalore, 350 acres in Mysore and 311 acres in Mangalore.

They have asked for another 845 acres near Sarjapura and 358 acres near Y elahanka for constructing software centres. While all other IT giants like Wipro , IBM, HP , TCS and Accenture are functioning in rented buildings, he said.
