A Comprehensive Development Strategy Plan for Bangalore, which will identify its long term infrastructure requirements, is under preparation. The BMP has enlisted consultants, ‘Urban First’ for the job. The areas to be assessed under the plan includes the 100 wards of BMP, the seven CMCs and one TMC around Bangalore.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Mr S L Narasimha, Managing Director, Urban First, observed that the CDSP has to comply with the priorities specified in the National Urban Renewal Mission. The latter’s two sub missions being: Infrastructure and Governance and Basic Services to Urban Poor.

“Our first report will focus on infrastructure — water, sanitation, solid waste management, roads, transport network and e-governance. We are taking stock of things as they stand today, secondary data is being collected from BMP, BWSSB, the CMCs and such bodies,” Mr Narasimha said. On Tuesday, the BMP administration too addressed its readiness for the job.
