Bangalore: Chief Minister Dharam Singh disclosed here on Saturday that the government would give its green signal for the "Greater Bangalore" project on July 30.
The project aims at providing drinking water to seven CMCs around Bangalore from Cauvery 4th stage.
Inaugurating the mass contact programme of Bangalore rural district, Singh said the government would soon seek approval of the Centre for its public investment board (PIB) so that work on Bangalore Metro rail project could be expedited.
Explaining various achievements of the coalition government, Singh claimed that it (government) was stable and efforts to destabilise it would not succeed as long as “we have blessings of the people”.
Minister for Industries and Bangalore rural district in-charge minister P G R Sindhia said that a cluster of industries would be established in each taluk of the district. He also said that government would set up a Cabinet sub-committee to go into the issue of providing jobs to Kannadigas in private sector units as per the recommendations of Sarojini Mahishi report.
