Bangalore: Vikasa Soudha, the replica of Vidhana Soudha is a unique structure, and on Monday morning the arena between these two magnificent edifices drew a huge crowd.

‘Bhupathi-Sania tennis on street’ was a novel way of promoting a sports event. The Sunfeast Open WTA Championship which will be held in Kolkata in September this year was introduced here with a temporary tennis court with all the prescribed markings and a removable-net. Bhupathi and Sania indulged in warm-up tennis for about 30 minutes.

On choosing Bangalore as the venue, Mahesh Bhupathi said, “Bangalore is the home of Sunfeasts".

Pairing with Paes not over
Speaking to mediapersons, Mahesh said that pairing up with Leander Paes is not ruled out. “It is not a closed chapter. We will definitely play together. In fact we will play in the David Cup matches in September and will also represent the country together at the Asian Games.”

On his performance so far in the year, Mahesh said, “ I didn’t start off well, but the Wimbledon mixed doubles event (with Mary Pierce of France) was a huge turn around. I am looking forward to the summer and hard-court season ahead.”
