Blame LPG shortage for traffic jam

Blame LPG shortage for traffic jam
The Times of India

Bangalore: Shortage of LPG at a filling point on Residency Road led to a major traffic jam on Residency Road, Museum Road, Madras Old Bunk Road, St. Marks Road and surrounding areas for over two hours on Monday morning.

As a result of the shortage at the petrol pump, over 1,000 autorickshaws were parked on the road, blocking traffic in surrounding areas.
Police had a tough time controlling vehicular movement in the busy central areas during office hours. The jam cleared only after LPG supply arrived at the pump.

On Sunday evening too, Residency Road was jammed because of the problem. The traffic police blamed petroleum companies for not supply sufficient LPG to the pumps. “There is only one filling point in the entire central business district area, and there are 12 in other parts of the city. These joints run out of stocks frequently and autos pile up in front of these bunks,’’ DCP traffic (east) M.A. Saleem explained.
