Chief Minister N Dharam Singh on Friday said that the opening up of 248 sq km of Green Belt areas for urbanisation, as proposed in the revised CDP, is not final.

“It is still in the preliminary stage. We will take public opinion and discuss it in both legislature and cabinet before taking a final decision,” Mr Singh told reporters in Bangalore.

Asked about objections raised to giving the CDP revision contract to a French consortium, he said that the contract was awarded by the previous government.
